You didn't have to be a fan of the popular HBO series Sex in the City to enjoy the recent fashion show at the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine. It did help to be a fan of fashion as Rochelle's, a local women's clothing boutique, along with the hotel, presented an exciting evening of contemporary fashion, performance art, and other amusements called Sex in the Old City, inspired by the HBO program whose focus on fashion has made it a springboard for a number of trends.

Cosmopolitans, the cocktail of choice for the characters in the program, were on special, but also popular with the crowd was the extensive list of selections from the hotel's Cobalt Lounge martini menu. The evening was a big hit with the impressiveIly diverse audience, which ranged from Flagler College students to those of their parents' age.

An equally eclectic host of models (including the performance artist who began the evening, Jorden R. Hutson, aka Spyder Jackson), showed street wear through evening wear, including Laundry, Juicy Couture, Vivienne Tam, Novikov and Hair and makeup were by Jenna Burdsal of Panache Salon, St. Augustine.

Best Dressed winners from the audience were Alphons Vijgen, Cynthia Hastings of Ponte Vedra Beach and Pam and Chris Way.
